Poker & Rotary-Style Control for Dampers
The poker control (top illustration) comes with the Vestal Cast-Iron Damper and is 12" in overall length. It consists of a "catch" piece that bolts to the damper frame, and a control arm which attaches to the damper plate with a cotter pin (provided). Moving the hole in the control arm regulates the width of the damper opening. Rotary controls (bottom illustration) do not come standard with the Vestal Cast-Iron Fireplace Damper. They must always be ordered separately. The rotary control measures 19" and simply installs as shown. [Note: These are Vestal controls - they may not work on other dampers.]
Replacement Vestal Damper Plates
For old, rusty, warped or missing damper plates; we have replacement Vestal Damper plates. It doesn't matter if the old Vestal Damper has poker or rotary controls, in a mater of minutes you can easily slide out the defective plate and slide in a replacement plate. Four sizes are available. See chart below for exact measurements.
SMOKE GUARDS are black finished to they do their job of sending smoke up the chimney instead of into the living space. The Smoke Guards are spring loaded for replacement while the silicone adhesive sets. They come in 3 widths; 4";6";and 8" and are available in 2 different adjustable lengths: 18" to 30"; 28 to 48"; 40" to 60". Available in Black (powder coated steel), Brass or Copper.

In today's tighter
homes, even the best equipment, properly installed, can fail to
operate as designed if the basics are neglected. Wood or gas,
vented or unvented- an air starved appliance won't perform up to
standards. When a customer
calls with a problem, and suggesting opening a window solves it, it
is time to install the permanent fix, the ASV-90. Simple to
use, simple to install...but what a difference a little fresh air
can make! When the appliance
can't draw sufficient air from the home, smoking problems can
occur. The Air Supply Ventilator delivers filtered fresh
make-up air into the home from the outside thereby providing
necessary air for vented and vent-free gas appliances, as well as
wood burning fireplaces. The Air Supply Ventilator is
installed through an outside wall in less than 30 minutes.

We sell the Vestal Damper either as a unit
containing the framework, plate, and poker-style controls, or we see
the plate separately. The poker and rotary-style control are
also available separately. [Product Note: Each cast-iron
damper (shown above) comes with the poker-style control. The
rotary control is an option.] 
There are two types of damper plate controls, poker and
rotary.
If you have a burnt out
log lighter, we offer two types of replacement. Shown at the
top of the picture is a cast iron log lighter. It has its own legs
to stand on, is side jetting and can be attached from either
end. It has a 14 inch length. The next four down are
standard replacement pipes, they just screw in. Comes with a
removable female coupling. Lengths are listed above. The
thread is 1/2-14 N.P.T. on both types (National Pipe Thread, actual
ruler measures around 3/4").
Ash Dump Doors are
constructed of 16 gauge powder coated steel (left) or 304 stainless
steel (right) in picture at top of page. They fit the standard 4" x
8" ash dump opening in the floor of the firebox. Because of
the wide 1" flange the maximum ash dump they will cover is 6" X
10". They feature a center pivot door so the homeowners can
use their fireplace tools to open and close them by pushing on the
rear section. Double size (i.d. 7" x 10", o.d. 9" x 12" ) are
also available 
This Ash Dump Door
is constructed of 16 gauge powder coated steel. It fits
the opening 7.5" x 5.5" in the floor of the firebox.
Because of the wide 1" flange the maximum ash dump they will cover
is 9" X 7". Note: This door opens on the 5.5" side. The
7.5" side is along lower edge of picture.

Clean out doors for the
outside of ash dumps are constructed of 14-gauge stamped steel with
wide flanges for easy installation. Hinged door has spring
clip lock for easy cleaning. Available in two sizes, both
listed above. 
These insulated
clean-out doors from Lyemance are available in three sizes.

A properly functioning
catalytic stove burns more efficiently and with less

and insert the probe, it's magnetized to hold it in

Designed for a accurate measurement of gases
immediately behind a catalytic combustor. High temperature
coil registers accurate readings up to 2000*F. Can be
retrofitted to most catalytic stoves to comply with EPS monitoring
regulations (consult stove manufacturer for location of mounting
hole in stove.) An indispensable tool for efficient wood stove
or insert operation; signals when to switch off bypass, and when to
reduce fire to prevent degrading expensive catalytic
combustors. Comes with 4" probe which can be cut to length for
